Sleepy

Tomorrow is Wm's birthday party and the whole fam has been resting up!
After working 19 days straight!
Just moving into my spot at 6:30am is not what I meant by "get up."
Today at school they will announce Wm's name and he gets to wear a giant birthday sticker all day. I told him how, when I was kid, your mom would bring in some kind of delicious homemade treat on your birthday and you'd have a class party as well as your at-home party. And that happened for every kid's birthday - so it was like Party Central at school. He asked why we weren't allowed to bring treats in for his birthday and I was all, "Health Nazis. Your childhood is ruined." And he sighed, "tell me about it."

Yesterday afternoon, I brought Wm to my office to see the Senior Design Showcase - where all my students show off their year-long design-build projects. They had to create a whole new category at the awards show they go to because OSU's BME teams have swept 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places since 2009 - the first year we ever competed. Woot! It must be their amazing and professional advising…
Anywho, Wm got to see a tricycle made for kids who suffer from growing disorders like dwarfism, a machine to aerate bone marrow to remove the bad red blood cells and retain healthy white blood cells, and, his favorite, he actually got to try a wheelchair designed for people who only have the use of one arm! On the way home, I go, "did you have fun - was that awesome?" And Wm replied, "Yeah. But…you talk too much." BURN.
