Day 6: Alpine Slide

Today's Big Event was the Alpine Slide. But…we'll get there.  First, we drove out to a really cool playground in Georgetown, CO (which is the cutest little mountain town!) and then stopped for Drew's bday lunch at a cool pizza place in Evergreen.

We also stopped at a lookout for mountain sheep. Unfortunately, we saw no sheep. But had some good views!!

And Wm & Griffin hunted for cool rocks!

AND, Evvie let me hold her!!! She wasn't thrilled…but I'll take it!!!

Then, came Wm's favorite thing we've done the whole trip! The Alpine Slide! You go up some ski lift like thing to the top of a mountain and then slide down a winding slide on a sled-like thing. Wm LOVED it!!! Drew and Griffin rode together, but Wm was big enough to have his own sled - which he was thrilled about!

To close out the day, Jess cooked a great dinner and my cousin Stephanie came over to their place and we all had a blast! We are heading out to breakfast with the Keefer Clan tomorrow morning and then we hit the road! Our next stop is Manhattan, KS at a really cute B&B! Tomorrow's stops include a carousel, a picnic lunch, a "wildlife adventure" (if there's time!) and dinner at SmashBurger! 

Day 5: Golden

Today we bummed around Golden. First we took a walk to a playground...

Then we went for ice cream and walked around downtown.  Wm got a rubber band shooting gun.  He is in love with it. He wanted numerous poses and shots with the gun.

Steve is still Evvie's favorite visitor, but I think I may be growing on her.

And Wm and Griffin are super cute together. Wm said, "I can talk to Griffin like an 8 year old. Smartness must run in our family." Wm is very sad that tomorrow is our last day in CO!! Mimi and Guy fly out early tomorrow.  We plan to spend tomorrow doing an exciting array of things!  Then, we roll out after a bright and early breakfast with the Keefers on Tuesday. Day 3: We Have Arrived

It is very late and I am very tired, so I will just let the pictures speak for themselves today!

Tomorrow is the wedding, so we probably won't get home until very late. So, it's unlikely Day 4 will be up tomorrow!  But I plan for us all to look extraordinarily cute tomorrow, so there should be some good pictures to share!!

Day 2: Kansas

Today was our last "long drive" day.  Just a short 5 hour jaunt into Golden tomorrow! We had some fun stops today - including one that Wm said he will "still remember when he is 100 years old."

Stop 1: Historic covered bridge in Missouri 

Wm's most favoritest place ever. It was filled with moving dinosaurs, mist, jungle noises, the whole shebang. There was faux lava, thunderstorms, waterfalls….

Stop 2: T-Rex Cafe

This was more theme park than restaurant!

Then, when we arrived at the hotel…it was just like home:

We should roll into Golden early afternoon. We get to meet up with Uncle Drew, Aunt Jess, Griffin, and Evvie (and Mimi and Guy!) and see their place. Then, we have my cousin's rehearsal dinner tomorrow evening!
