Surprise Steve!

Steve surprised us by coming home earlier than he planned! (He actually gave me a heart attack because I happened to be standing up near the door to take the cat out and clip his nails on the front porch and I heard someone insert a key into the door and froze.) He brought Wm a little Louisville slugger bat and baseball that was a big hit! Wm is very happy to have his dad home!! AND, now that Wm is back on the dairy, Mimi took us all out for ice cream! Wheeeee!

I have been making lists of lists of lists of things to not forget before we leave for CO. I am a compulsive over-planner when it comes to traveling! (And most things.) We leave bright and early Wednesday morning. We have a 7.5 hour drive the first day, which includes stops at the James Whitcomb Riley Museum and the Orpheum Children's Science Museum in Champaign, IL. We arrive at a cute B&B in Hannibal, MO that evening. I will, of course, update with pictures of our progress toward our Final Destination in Golden! And then, expect a TON of pictures of all the funtimes in CO!

In honor of Steve's homecoming, and the lifting of Wm's dietary restrictions, I made one of our family's favorite dinners! It is always a super big hit with Wm, who can pick off what he likes and make his own little plate of goodies. I can never resist taking a picture when we have it because it's always so pretty when we have Picnic Platter!
