Healthy Boy

First, a quick Steve update: Day 2 was much better than Day 1! He got a great night's sleep and had a much better second day. So, things are looking up!  Wm is missing him like crazy, though!!

In Wm news, he went to the doctor. And was pretty excited about it.
Shooting the lighting at the doctor
He has gained 5 pounds and has grown 2 inches since last year! This catapults him from the 3rd percentile to 5th. The doctor said he is a very healthy boy! Wm was really good and even asked the doctor his own question ("when is the next time I have to get a shot?") He explained how the pain in his belly feels and the doctor said we are doing exactly what she'd recommend. She said if it was her own kid, she wouldn't do an endoscopy for pain that wasn't inhibiting his daily activities because it's "very invasive." The doctor did recommend, if his tummy pain stays away, eventually giving him a pretzel (she stressed not giving him too much!) to see what happens. But, we are now on Day 5 of pain-free tummy!! We left it at that, but she did say if the tummy pain returns, independent of diet, to call her and she'll refer him to a pediatric GI specialist.

Wm met a police officer at summer clubhouse who gave him a sticker badge and a pencil that says, "Columbus Police: Your Friend for Life." Wm was like, "he was really nice!" Wm believed the police's main job is giving people tickets (mostly because his father keeps GETTING tickets). He also got new shoes AGAIN (that you can't see very well), because his tiny block feet get bleedy blisters in 99% of shoes.  So I poured over zappos and found the most comfortable looking shoes in the world. They are basically cushion and neoprene. Wm loves them! They will be perfect for creeking - a Wm fav!
Badge and new kicks!
Wm got a new, super duper short summertime hair cut. He was actually fairly well behaved for said hair cut because I told him that if he was good, he could stay up until 9pm. Worked like a charm. It was also nice for me, because I am real bored and lonely after he goes to bed now that Steve is gone! Win-win.
Cute new hair cut!
We got CRAZY storms last night. Of course, they woke up Wm. And, of course, he freaked out. At least there was an empty spot in bed for him to take over! But he kept me up for at least an hour going, "MOMMY! This is making me very nervous!" [pause] "MOMMY! Should we go to the basement?" [pause] "MOMMY! What if the electricity goes out? Where is the flashlight?" He had a very loose tooth and the force of his chattering caused it to fall out at 2am. I told him he better stop losing teeth before he can get some new ones in or he'll have to start a liquid diet!
Toothless
Wm said, inadvertently, the sweetest thing he's ever said to me last night. He goes, "This storm is making me very scared and nervous. But I don't feel scared and nervous when you snuggle me."
