Poor Steve is having a horrible time of it. Here is a quick rundown of his first day at the conference:
1. Wake up at 3am and on the road to Louisville by 3:30am
2. Get a speeding ticket
3. Arrive late because of traffic caused by accident
4. Air conditioning broken in room he is in from 8am-6:15pm for CAO class - so cold he shivered so hard he was sweating
5. Extreme nausea and intestinal issues from stress/exhaustion
6. Yucky lunch
7. Hotel put him in wrong room. A suite with full kitchen…and no bed.
8. STARVING, but hotel didn't sort out room mess until 7:30pm.
9. Finally go out to dinner and get boatload of food. Food not good.
10. Call home around 8:30 to say goodnight to Wm, who is VERY SAD that Daddy is not there and makes him feel bad.
So - Steve's first day was pretty bad. I'm hoping it gets better from there! He joked that he was just going to get in the car and drive home. He's also pretty bummed because he found out that this class is just the first step to being a Certified Arena Operator. He has to bring some giant packet home and write a bunch of essays and have them sent in and scored before he gets his certification. If there's one thing Steve hates, it's writing! Wm and I are trying to think of special things we can do for Daddy when he gets home!! So far on the agenda are a clean house, freshly baked cookies, beer, and movie he can sit and watch while drinking said beer while I unpack for him.
Wm goes in today for his 8 year well child checkup. He has said for THREE DAYS IN A ROW that his stomach doesn't hurt AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! So we may be on to something with the whole off gluten, on dairy thing! I can't wait to see what his doctor says!
